Princeton University is, of course, a famous school, but it is also extremely well known for its financial aid programs. The cost of attendance itself is 81,174, which also includes room and board, other expenses, books, and travel.

However, in 2001, Princeton expanded on their current programs to become the first university to remove loans for students who qualify for financial aid, instead offering grant aid that does not require repayment. Over 60% of students take advantage of this program. This results in remarkable low debt after graduating and extremely low loan default rates. The school actually says 83% of recent seniors are debt free upon graduating. Average graduating debt is $4,957, about a fifth compared to the nation.

On top of the Princeton grant aid, 19% also receive Federal grants.
