Resting on a 140 acre campus, Pomona College features 14 residence halls as well as seven total dining rooms. Students wishing to live off campus must apply for permission, but nearly all decide to live on campus for all four years. The library, available to all Claremont College students, is the largest library arts college collection in the United States. It consists of 2 million volumes, 30,000 microfilm reels, 1 million microfiche, 60,000 periodicals, and more.

A large number of students decide to take part in Pomona’s varsity sports, consisting of 21 teams. Known as the Sagehens, Football, Basketball, and Water Polo are the most popular choices. The school has 531 athletes, almost 20% of students. Intramural and club sports are also available.

Throughout the Claremont Colleges, there are over 250 clubs and organizations, including several publications (The Student Life, The Undecided, Claremont Port Side, and Passwords). Political students can take part in the Pomona Student Union to discuss social issues on campus. For the more adventurous, On The Loose is suggested. This outdoors club regularly takes trips to nature including the mountains, desert, ocean, Yosemite, and Joshua Tree National Park. Students can also take part in Ski-Beach Day, a 20+ year tradition at Ponoma. Students are taken to a local ski resort for skiing and snowboarding in the morning, and then to the beach for the afternoon.

For those with an interest in music, the singing groups may be a calling (Men’s Blue and White, Claremont Shades, Mood Swing, and more). The Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance company should also be considered as it is one of the largest organizations on the campus with over 130 dancers, featuring different expertise levels, events, and performances.
