Computer Science, Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, General, Political Science and Government, General, Biology/Biological Sciences, and General are the top choices for majors at Pomona College. The school offers a total of 48 majors in arts, social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities, as well as minors in most disciplines. Each year, 600 courses are provided at Pomona, with another 2,000 courses available to students at the other Claremont Colleges.

Field work and research is a big part of a student’s career at Pomona College, with 52% of students participating in research with the faculty. Another 200 students participate during the summer. The AI lab, award winning theatre, studio arts hall, biological field station, planetarium, and electron microscope are just a few examples of the opportunities Pomona provides its undergraduate students. The locale of mountains, beaches, and deserts also provides great choices for research and study.

All students are required to take General Education courses in writing, math, foreign language, and more. Critical Inquiry is also required for freshman for interdisciplinary reading, writing, and discussion. Juniors and seniors will then go on to focus on Senior Exercises which may include research or portfolios.
