All Dartmouth freshman are required to live on campus for their first year, but overall 90% of students decide to stay in the dorms for their entire four years. The buildings can hold up to 3873. Students can also eat on campus choosing from local foods, special dishes, vegan and vegetarian options, cafes, and more.
Sports are a large part of life at Dartmouth as over 75% will participate. The school hosts 34 Big Green varsity teams in the Ivy Group, 33 club sports, and dozens of intramurals. Some of the top sports include Football, Basketball, and Ice Hockey. The facilities include skating rinks, two pools, a sailing facility, multipurpose buildings, courts, gyms, and more. Classes are also open to students that include ballroom dancing, strength training, and martial arts.
For students interested in the outdoors, the famous Dartmouth Outing Club is suggested. It is the oldest club of its kind in the country and it sponsors several events, outdoor recreation, and trips. The school has over 160 groups that covers every interest: fraternities, sororities, politics, cultural, writing, music, and more.
The college also offers students services such as academic and career counseling, placement, and employment. The library on campus is made up of nine buildings and host nearly 2.5 million volumes and 6 million total resources that include videos, recordings, maps, photographs, and more.
