All student applications are due by January 1st, after coming available online in August of the previous year. Olin College only accepts forms through the Common Application or Coalition Application. Students should expect to hear back about advancing to the second stage by the beginning of February.

If students are accepted for the second stage, they must attend one of the Candidates’ Weekends, which take place at the end of February and first week of March. The weekend includes a design project, an interview, and a group exercise while also giving students the chance to see if Olin is the right choice for their future.

Acceptance letters will come after Candidates’ Weekend by mid-March. Students must reply with intent by May 1st. Every year, about 930 applications are received, with 22% being accepted to the school. 100 or 49% decide to attend in the fall.

All applications for the January 1st deadline should have none, but none are also recommended. They must also include an undergraduate fee of $85.

Olin College looks for students who are diverse, talented, confident, and, of course, have a passion for engineering. Every application receives personal attention as they look for high achievers with difficult courses, high grades, and test scores in the SAT combined range of 1,490 - 1,560 or ACT Composite range of 34 - 35. If interested in applying for Olin, students should take rigorous high school classes with calculus and physics included, both required courses for admission.
