Duke is one of the most selective schools in the country, only admitting 3,200 out of 46,000 applications. This results in an acceptance rate of 7. Approximately 1,800 (or 56%) will go on to enroll in the school. Applications can be filled out using either the Common Application or the Coalition Application. Each should contain none as well as paperwork declaring which school you’re applying to, the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences or the Pratt School of Engineering. Duke also wishes to know what major and minor the student is intending to pursue. Undergraduates will have to include $85 for the application fee and graduates, $95. A majority of students who are accepted to Duke are in the top 10% of their graduating class. SAT Combined ranges should be between 1,510 - 1,560 and ACT Composite on the range of 34 - 35. Duke suggests that students take challenging courses in their high school years, including four years of English and three years of math, science, social studies, and a foreign language. Calculus is required for the Pratt School of Engineering. Early decision applicants should turn in their paperwork by November 1st. For regular decision, January 3rd. If regular decision applicants wish to apply for priority consideration for an alumni interview, the deadline is December 20th.
