The University of Pennsylvania provides undergraduates with 89 choices for majors in four different schools: College of Arts and Sciences, Penn Engineering, School of Nursing, and The Wharton School for business. The campus also includes three teaching hospitals and over a 100 research centers.

The top majors among students are Finance, General, Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, Philosophy, Other, Biology/Biological Sciences, and General, with many concentrating in only one or two of the schools. Undergraduates are required to take courses in liberal arts and sciences. Every year, 4,200 courses are offered, including 50 languages, classes for interdisciplinary minors, and flexible opportunities to obtain two degrees.
