Students interested in attending Navy should consider applying as soon as possible. The school recommends applying as soon as April of the student’s junior year but applications must be in by January of the senior year. Any received after January 31st are not considered. Students should expect to hear the academy’s decision by April 15th.

None are all needed materials for a student’s application, but a nomination is required. These are usually from a member of Congress, a senator, the Vice President, or the President. Students who are the child of a Medal of Honor recipient do not need a nomination. Applicants will also be required to pass a physical test and medical exam. It’s recommended that students include none as well.

Navy looks for SAT combined ranges between 1,200 - 1,420 or ACT in the 25 - 32 range. Every year, 14,700 applications are received with 1,400 students (or 9%) receiving an acceptance letter. 1,170 enrol for the following fall.
