Every year, the Stanford Admissions Department receives about 54,000 applications. Out of these, 2,100 go on to be accepted by the school and 1,700 or 81% decide to attend the 7th school in the United States. With lower acceptance rates than a number of other schools in the country, Stanford’s rate is only 4.

A student’s application should include none, but none are recommended as well. Undergraduates will be asked to pay $90 with their application (graduates pay $125). Test results should be in the following ranges: 34 - 36 for the ACT Composite and 1,510 - 1,570 for the SAT Combined Score.

Here are some important dates to remember: For Early Decision applicants, paperwork is due by November 1st. Students should expect to hear back by December 15th. Regular Decision paperwork needs to be in by January 3rd, with a decision by April 1st. Accepted students have until May 2nd to reply with intent.

If the student is a transfer, the application isn’t due until March 15th, with a decision by May 15th. The student must reply by June 1st. For art students, they are also required to submit an art portfolio (due on October 15th for Early Action and December 1st for Regular Decision).
