With 2,153 faculty members, Stanford puts a strong emphasis on the student to teacher ratio (about 5 to 1). Twenty members of the community are actually Nobel Laureates, as are four Pulitzer Prize winners. The university also offers students ROTC – Army, study abroad, distance learning, and teacher certification.
After their first year, 98%% of freshmen stay at the school. 58% go on to graduate within four years, 93% in six.
With plenty of diversity on campus, the majority of students come from New York, Florida, Texas, California, and Washington.
