On average, Caltech receives 13,100 applications each year, with 3% (or 430) resulting in acceptance. 300 decide to enroll in the university and attend in September.

To apply, students should aim for a 35 - 36 on their ACT Composite or 1,540 - 1,590 on their SAT Combined. Applications require none as well as $75 for undergraduates and $100 for graduates. It’s also recommended you include none.

Caltach makes sure that accepted students are academically prepared, have demonstrated a consistent interest in science, engineering, math, or technology, and that they will have an impact on the campus and community. Applying students should have taken or are currently taking these courses: 4 years of math (including calculus), 1 year of chemistry, 1 year of physics, at least 3 years of English, and 1 year of U.S. history/government (though this is waived for international students).

Remember these dates to apply! Early action applications are due by November 1st, with answers by Mid-December. Tests should be completed in October. For Regular Decision students, applications are due on January 3rd, with a decision by mid-March, and tests due in December.
