University of Illinois Springfield (out-of-state)

Amount: $2,500 GPA: 3.0 Special Criteria: -Recipients must be first-time students to the University of Illinois at Springfield and declared as Theatre Majors at UIS -Recipients must have a GPA of 3.0 or above -Recipients can be interested in either technical theatre or performance theatre -Recipients of the scholarship must be significantly involved in each show -Recipients understand that while receiving this scholarship they are not allowed to participate in off-campus shows. This does not include shows they may be involved with over a break in the regular academic year such as the summer break. -Recipients must submit a portfolio of their experience and include a headshot -Recipients will be required to provide a 1-2-minute audition and/or be willing to also participate in a brief interview. -Along with the forms required by the Theatre department, recipients will be required to fill out the campus wide scholarship application and the FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid -If a recipient continues to meet the requirements the scholarship can be renewable for up to a total of 4 years as long as adequate progress toward one's Theatre degree is maintained.
