The Dorothy Varner Miko Endowed Scholarship

The Dorothy Varner Miko Endowed Scholarship was established by Dorothy Miko in 2001 to provide financial support for outstanding students preparing to become teachers of reading for the primary grades. -Renewable: No -Need-based: Yes -Essay: Please discuss your plan to become a teacher and discuss the impact that you think early reading education has on a student's life. Please limit your response to no more than 500 words. -GPA: 3.2 Cumulative -Class: Seniors -Major: Early Childhood or Elementary Education -Preferences: Must plan to teach reading in the primary grades Current Students: Complete this application by December 31 , 2023 (notified by March 31) Currently enrolled students in a teacher education major are eligible.
