The Carol Owen Memorial Special Education Teacher Scholarship was created in 2008 by Robbin Owen and friends and colleagues of Carol Owen to honor her and her love for teaching, as well as to benefit special education students. -Renewable: Yes, for up to 3 years -Need-based: No -Listing: Please list your involvement in service activities -Recommendation: Two. Must demonstrate a passion for special education as demonstrated by references from university supervisors, academic advisors, and/or faculty members. -GPA: 3.0 Cumulative -Class: Sophomore, juniors, seniors -Major: Enrolled in field experiences in Low Vision and Blindness or Learning and Behavior -Preferences: Full time -Additional Preferences: Preference will be given to first generation college students or students with outstanding records of service to others Current Students: Complete this application by December 31, 2023 (notified by March 31) Currently enrolled students in a teacher education major are eligible.
